Your Photo
Your selfie is analyzed on your device to compute your wellness scores and a short summary. The photo is then discarded. It is never uploaded, never stored, and never used to identify you.
Your Records Stay on Your Phone
Your scores, summaries, session dates and skin observations are stored only on your device. There is no cloud copy, no server copy, and no account. We cannot show you your history, export it for you, or recover it for you, because we never receive it.
Because your history matters, Mira keeps it safe in three places on your own phone: the app's storage, a file inside the app's private folder, and the device Keychain. This means:
- when you update Mira to a new version, your history is kept; and
- if you delete Mira and reinstall it, your history comes back on its own.
Moving to a new phone is the one case your phone cannot cover by itself, because nothing from the old phone exists on the new one. For that, use Back up & restore in the app: save a backup file wherever you like (Files, iCloud Drive, or anywhere else you choose) and open it on your new phone. The file contains only numbers and short text โ never a photo. Where you keep that file is your choice, and it is then covered by whatever service you save it to.
Deleting Your Data
You can view and delete your records in the app at any time.
Please note: because your history is kept in the device Keychain so that a reinstall can restore it, deleting the app does not erase your history โ reinstalling Mira would bring it back. If you want it gone for good, for example before you sell or hand on your phone, open the app and use Erase everything on this phone under System โ Back up & restore. That erases all three on-device copies, including the Keychain one, and cannot be undone.
Anonymous Usage (You Can Turn This Off)
The only information Mira ever sends is anonymous usage and performance data: which screens were opened, which buttons were tapped, how long a screen was on view, the app version and platform, how long an analysis took, and crashes. We use it to see what is slow or broken so that we can fix it.
This never includes your wellness scores, your summaries, your skin observations, the names you type for family members, or your photo. Those never leave your device at all. The usage data is tied only to a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email, or real-world identity, and it is sent to our own server โ never to an advertising network, a data broker, or a third-party analytics company. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
You can turn this off at any time in the app, under the gear menu โ Anonymous usage. When it is off, Mira sends nothing at all.
How We Use Information
We use the anonymous usage data described above to maintain and improve the app, and to comply with applicable law. We do not train or improve any model using your data. We do not share your information with advertisers, and we do not sell it.
Children
Mira is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Not a Medical Device
Mira offers gentle, everyday wellness reflections. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose. It is never a substitute for a doctor.
